is a phrase often used by people impersonating or characterising 'niggers'. The word 'nigger' is a derogatory term used to describe black people of various origin, although this wasn't always the case. The phrase has its roots in the blues music, evloving from white and african american relations during the retelling of sorrow through song. As you might expect it stemmed from the word negro, and was originally a non-offensive term used to denote someone with dark skin. The in-description changed to 'coloured' by the 1880s and the word 'nigger' fell out of favour, taking on its pejorative meaning.
