F6 is the F6th letter in the F Duodecimal Numbering System. Just like E numbers exist, F numbers have been given a place in the world to create competition and hopefully increase the price of E numbers, and making them less affordable for food manufacturers and automotive engineers.

While there was never any plans to inculde a F6th F-number in the FDNS, F6 became widely popular with the internet phenomenon "F6uma F6uma" in 2009.
