The Official Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Road Grids, or the OSPCRG, is a real although little known group of weirdos who have a strange obsession for road grids. The members are usually manic depressants who are hypnotised by the leader Norman and are led away to Norman's shed.

Work

The OSPCRG has successfully saved the lives of many innocent road grids since its launch, including saving Gloucester grids from drowning in floods. They also travel the country promoting their message "Hugging a road grid a day keeps the flooding away".

Last year, Norman managed to get together enough money from his mother (who runs the church fetes) to purchase a large van, affectionately known as The Gridmobile, which enables the Society to travel further.

Unfortunately, the group are rather exclusive. The last that was heard was that Norman was attempting to breed Samurai Road Grids to fight off the Grannies who attack them, claiming it is their turn to eat the vicar's biscuits. They are also planning to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
