The Olympics were a practical joke that Zeus played on the citizens of Ancient Greece in 1896. The idea was that people would do silly things such as run around in circles or jump over sticks in pursuit of a shiny medallion. However, Zeus died tragically in the Hamster Breakout of 1897 before he could tell anybody it was a joke. To this day, people participate in a version of the Olympics which occurs every 2.455 years and includes such events as Steroid Injecting and Opening a Pickle Jar.
