Bob the potato lay in the earth. He was bored. This was something potatoes shouldn't be, and something Bob's mother, a very proper Yukon Gold, did not at all approve of.
"Potatoes are not bored," she'd scold him. "We lie in the earth and grow with refined dignity."
Despite his mother's wise words, Bob the potato was bored, and bored to the extreme. He'd decided it would probably be much better to be a carrot. Or a turnip. Anything at all, really, just not a potato...
