Matláti has solved the money problem, yes, but he does not think this figure is right. He says that he did not come from a tribe consisting of a handful of people. However, there are only six houses.
Matláti also told me, "Bob, you forgot to count yourself." I am good at that sort of thing, so I think that I have made a silly mistake.
September 13
I did a more detailed count. All the people laughed at my silly name again. I gathered everybody's name. Matláti looked at them, and saw many of his friends. However, he did not see on the list the name of his enemy Haquaba. He suspects it is a plot against him and whatever "evil tribe" he creates.
Matláti sent a professional runner, Mérgo, to look for the people who are missing, telling him, "Follow the animals in imitation of a nomadic tribe, and you might find some people still wandering around."
