fight mario 300 times in a row while always having a shell somewhere (either kind, fails without one, best hold one and use B attacks) afterwards, you see knuckles appear, punch him. and the master emerald is available as an item. you attack it, and you can do one of three things: 1, press a and summon knuckles to do 1000 deadly punches. 2, press b and make super sonic appear and fly through your oponent 1000 time (doing the same amount of damage as knuckles). or 3, taunt and then make the emerald be your character (attacks have to do with the chaos emeralds, hyper knuckles, and super sonic, taunt changes you back to your original character)
