Talk:Family

(referring to this revision only) This article's got some good ideas in it but also some stuff that looks rather like it's trying to be persuasive (such as "the family Must Not worship any other religion apart from christianity") mostly in a definitely anti-family values direction. So I think some editing is in order to make it so it's not committed either way. Illogicopedia isn't supposed to be like an areana of ideas, but more like a giant box of donuts. (Illogicopedia:Commandments: "We are not persuasive") --Nerd42 14:19, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)

Meh, I don't think anybody's going to live their life by stuff they read on Illogicopedia ;) -- Hindleyak  ( Blab | Blog )   14:26, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)
That's not the point. What the article was saying at that point was basically that "family values" are somehow ridiculous. I seriously think they aren't. Trying to convince people that they are ridiculous is about advancing one specific political and social value system / agenda and frustrating another. Making fun of the 1960s sitcom family cliche' is one thing, since no one seriously lives like that, but seriously attacking the fundamental idea of family values is a different matter.
However, after deleting some of the points I think I've fixed it. --Nerd42 14:32, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)
C'mon dude, it's a joke, and a very good observation at that. -- Hindleyak  ( Blab | Blog )   14:34, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)
...though I'll admit the stuff you removed was kind of borderline. I've seen worse on ?pedia. -- Hindleyak  ( Blab | Blog )   14:40, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)
I think the article as it stands now is fine, and actually a very clever idea. In fact, if it wasn't dumped here from Uncyclopedia, we could feature it at this point for all I care. --Nerd42 14:49, 23 Arply 2009 (UTC)
