The Incredible Captain Rectum

The Incredible Captain Rectum was a children's cartoon series in the early 1960's featuring Captain Rectum, a Superhero who taught children about the importance of proper anal hygeine.

The show was a response to other popular shows like The Adventures of Toothbrush Man and Clean Hands Woman (shows devoted to dental care and hand-washing, respectively). The man behind the show's concept says, "I thought that if you could make a show teaching kids how to take care of their teeth, you could also make one teaching them how to take care of their anal cavities."

The show was on television for a grand total of five minutes in to the first episode. At this point, a mob of angry parents blew up the television studio and killed the show's producers in a very gruesome and unpleasant way. I won't describe it here, except to say that it involves five porcupines and a dishwasher.
